Michael Dean Amato
Prior to beginning his practice of law, Michael began his career in public accounting. He also worked in the corporate financial reporting department of a publically traded company. He earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant in Connecticut in 1979. In 1983, Michael Dean Amato obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut.
Since joining Parrett Porto Parese & Colwell, Michael has represented many individuals and businesses in a variety of areas, including business formation and transactions, estate planning, probate, and elder law, residential and commercial real estate transactions, and zoning and land use. His clients are mostly individuals and closely-held businesses.
Community / Business Affiliations (current and previous)
Michael has a strong commitment to the community and has been very active in local government. He has served on the Board of Alderman for the City of Milford both as a member and as the minority leader. He served on the Boards of Finance for both the City of Milford and the Town of Orange and has acted as chairman for both boards. He also served on the Pension and Retirement Board and Golf Course Commission for the City of Milford. Michael also was an incorporator and board member for 12345 Kids Count, Inc. in Milford which addresses preschool issues in the City of Milford. Michael was a member of the Board of Trustees of The Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall, and served as the Chairman of the Board from 2012 till 2015. He also served as an Officer of The Milford Yacht Club, Inc. and continues to serve as a member of its Board.
His extensive experience and community involvement serve him well as an attorney for the firm, giving him a wealth of resources to draw from when providing counsel to existing and new clients. Michael resides in Orange and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida with his wife, Elizabeth.
