Joseph M. Porto
Mr. Porto, a New Haven native, is a principal in the firm. His areas of focus include civil litigation in both state and federal courts with a primary focus on personal injury, workers compensation, product liability, criminal law, labor and employment litigation, zoning, and land use. He has tried several jury trials, courtside trials, and Workers Compensation Formal hearings.
Prior to joining the firm in 1996, Mr. Porto earned his B.A. from Trinity College in 1993 before going on to law school at the Quinnipiac University School of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and obtained his J.D. in 1996. He was subsequently admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1996 and the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut in 1997.
Community / Business Affiliations (current and previous)
He is a member of the New Haven County, Connecticut, and American Bar Associations as well as the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. In addition, Mr. Porto is a Board Member of the North Haven Youth Lacrosse League, a member of the North Haven Middle School Building Committee, Executive Committee Member of the New Haven County Bar Association, and is a past member of the Board of Directors of Boys Village (2001-2005).
In addition to managing a busy plaintiff’s based practice, Mr. Porto is also very involved in youth athletics in North Haven often coaching or assisting with baseball, basketball, or lacrosse teams that his children play on.
Mr. Porto is married with 3 children and lives in North Haven.
