Carl M. Porto II, Hamden Attorney
Carl Porto is
a Hamden native. He attended Boston University for his undergraduate
studies where he graduated cum laude in 1990. He then attended law
school at the Quinnipiac University School of Law, obtaining his
Juris Doctor degree in 1993. While in law school, Mr. Porto was a
member of the Connecticut Probate Law Journal and was the recipient
of the American Jurisprudence award in trial practice. Mr. Porto was
admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1993 and the United States
District Court for the District of Connecticut in 1994.
Mr. Porto
joined Porto, Parrett, Parese & Colwell, P.C. in 1993 and became a
principal of the firm in 2000. His practice focuses in the areas of
asset based commercial transactions, representation of lenders and
financial institutions, construction law, contracts, corporate law
including sales, mergers and acquisitions, commercial and
residential real estate transactions and litigation with an emphasis
on mortgage and real estate tax foreclosure, real estate, contract
and business disputes.
As an active
member in the legal and business communities, Mr. Porto is or has
been a member of many professional and business organizations. Among
these organizations are the New Haven County and Connecticut Bar
Associations, Board of Trustees for Hamden Hall Country Day School
(1998-2003) and the Standing Committee on Professionalism
(2001-2004). In addition, Mr. Porto is a member of the Board of
Directors of the Hamden Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Porto
resides in Hamden with his wife Kimberly and two children Carl III
and William.
